Monthly theme
Summer in full swing
Who’s this for? All B2C and D2C brands
Your idea: August is peak summer spending and your audience is in full treat-yourself mode. People are on holiday, planning days out and looking for things that make the season feel special. Create a limited summer bundle by grouping your products around a summer occasion and give it a name – a picnic pack, a holiday kit, a garden party set. Fitness brands – share outdoor workouts or fun ways to keep moving on holiday. Food and drink brands – push a summer menu or seasonal special. Kids and family brands – create a free “things to do this summer” download featuring your product or service as part of the solution, parents are always looking for ways to keep children entertained through summer. And if your business goes quieter in August? Use the time wisely by planning for your autumn content, get your processes in place and come back in September with a head start on everyone who coasted through summer. Summer is all about having FUN!
Key awareness weeks
7–9 August: MotoGP British Grand Prix, Silverstone
Who’s this for? Fashion, food, drink, lifestyle, automotive and travel brands
Your idea: MotoGP has a younger, edgier audience than F1 and a brilliant aesthetic to match. Create “race weekend ready” content, whether that’s an outfit edit, a road trip snack pack or a festival-style product bundle. Silverstone draws huge crowds and the energy around it is electric. You don’t need to be a motorsport brand to lean into the excitement.
11–17 August: Afternoon Tea Week
Who’s this for? Food, drink, bakery, gifting, hospitality, home and lifestyle brands
Your idea: Create the ultimate “afternoon tea at home” bundle – finger sandwiches, scones, your best tea selection, a beautiful cake. Package it up, photograph it beautifully and push it hard across email and social media this week. If you don’t sell food, style your products as part of an afternoon tea scene and lean into the elegance and occasion of it. Afternoon tea content is inherently beautiful and shareable, it does the work for you.
27–30 August: Reading & Leeds Festival
Who’s this for? Fashion, beauty, food, drink, lifestyle, music and youth brands
Your idea: Festival season content performs brilliantly in the lead up to Reading and Leeds. Create a “festival essentials” edit featuring your products – even if they aren’t obviously festival-related, think about what your audience would want to pack. Beauty brands: festival makeup looks. Food brands: the perfect festival snack. Fashion brands: this one’s obvious. The key is getting your content out weeks before, not during.
29–31 August: Notting Hill Carnival (60th Anniversary)
Who’s this for? Food, drink, fashion, music, lifestyle, beauty and community brands
Your idea: 2026 marks 60 years of Notting Hill Carnival – this is not just any year. It’s a landmark cultural moment and the energy around it is going to be huge. Celebrate it authentically. Shout out Caribbean-owned businesses you love. Create content that honours the culture rather than just riding the aesthetic. If your brand has Caribbean roots or connections, this is your moment to shine. Brands that show up with genuine respect and joy for this occasion will earn serious goodwill from their audience.
Key dates
13 August: A-Level Results Day
Who’s this for? Fashion, gifting, food, drink, experience and lifestyle brands
Your idea: A-Level Results Day is an enormous emotional moment, for students and parents alike. Whether results go well or not so well, people want to celebrate or console. Create a “whatever happens, you’ve got this” post that speaks to both outcomes – it’s warm, it’s human and it resonates with a huge audience. If you sell gifts or experiences, push a “congratulations” or “treat yourself” offer. This day trends massively on social media every year and brands that show up with the right tone clean up.
15 August: National Relaxation Day
Who’s this for? Wellness, beauty, candle, food, drink, lifestyle and self-care brands
Your idea: Give your audience genuine permission to do nothing. Create a “your perfect relaxation evening” content piece featuring your products as the centrepiece – a bath, a candle, a good book, a glass of something delicious. Ask your audience in the comments what their ultimate way to switch off looks like. It’s simple, it’s warm and it drives huge engagement because everyone has an opinion on how they relax.
31 August: August Bank Holiday
Who’s this for? All B2C brands
Your idea: The last bank holiday before Christmas and your audience knows it. Lean into the “last hurrah of summer” energy. Send an email the Thursday before with a clear, time-limited summer offer framed as a final summer treat. Keep it punchy, keep it fun, and make sure the CTA is unmissable. This is also a brilliant moment to tease your autumn collection or upcoming seasonal content – summer is ending, something exciting is coming.
